Our camera is broken and we're to broke to fix it or get another so we've been taking a lot of simple photos with our cell phones. A few days ago we went to Best Buy to drool mostly and Sophie freaked out when she saw the teens playing with the Rockband setup at the local store. After they were done she picked up the microphone and all but inhaled it, but we got some cute photos out of it,

This is a video clip of Sophie dancing in nursery. She isn't old enough to go regularly, she's almost 16 months old, but I thought would be fun for her and as you can see, it was :)

The video quality isn't that great because I used my cell phone to film but try to enjoy it anyway.

About 15 seconds into the clip a little boy to my right try to sit on a chair next to me and missed and fell on his bum. It was pretty funny but I only got his feet in the video. You can hear me say "are you alright?".

Este e' um video clip de Sophie no bercario da Igreja. Ela nao tem idade sufficiente para ir ainda. Ela tem 16 meses, mas eu pensei que ser divertido para ela e como voce pode ver, foi.

A qualidade do video nao e' boa por que eu usei meu Cell fone para filmar, mas tenta se divertir de qual quer forma.

Mas ou menos 15 segundos no video un garato de meu lado tentou sentar na cadeira do meu lado e caiu no chao. Foi engrecado, mas eu so peguei os pes dele no video. Voce pode me ouvir dizer no video "Esta bem?"

Faced with the difficult decision of sitting at home with 3 days off or grab a quick vacation we decided after talking to some friends to take off for Wilmington, North Carolina for a few days. The trip was about 4 hours with Sophie being a brat for 2 of them we finally rolled into town to our Quality Inn room. Shortly after we headed down to Fort Fisher to visit the North Carolina Aquarium at Ft. Fisher.

Sophie was futzy and whinny the whole trip except for last hour before finally arriving in town.

BIG HUGE lobster. This bad boy, if you could see him in real life is about as long as my arm. Too bad if I cooked him up he wouldn't taste very good. From what I understand lobster meat gets tougher and less tasty as the beast gets older.

Sophie couldn't keep her eyes off the TV, so we gave her a pillow and she laid back.

Wednesday we woke up early to travel to Raleigh, NC to help our friends Jared n Clenie move into their new apartment. We made it all the way to Raleigh, and were less than 5 minutes from their house when the tire went flat. The 2nd tire in the last month. As it turns out, the company who sold us the tires was able to change out the air stems on all the tires because apparently they came defective from the tire manufacturer. Fortunately it only took about 10 minutes to swap the tire to a spare and we made it to their house around 1p.m.

This is a photo of Jared, Me, & Clenie cleaning up the styrofoam left over in the trailer so the ABF guy can haul the trailer away.

We stayed the night in Raleigh (Wednesday to Thursday) and before heading home we visited the Apex/Raleigh LDS Temple real quick to take some cute photos.

So we've had a very tough few days. Sophie is finally teething. She woke up from a nap on Saturday about noon and felt hot all over. She had a mild fever from 99 to 101 all day and was cranky and fussy. She threw up everything she ate later that night and was crying all day. We soon realized she had 2 teeth starting to break through her gum and she was teething. We didn't sleep all saturday night because she kept crying every 30 to 60 minutes. At 4 am I found a 24 hour pharmacy and bought some Baby Orajel. We've been giving her Infant Motrin regularly, and numbing her gum. She's still cranky and it's going on day 3! Hope it ends soon, or it's going to be a tough Father's Day.

Though Sophie didn't actually take a step she stood on both feet free of holding on to anything! She stood up a dozen times yesterday and stood there balancing before slowly sitting back down. We think in the next 2 weeks she's slowly loose her fear of falling and actually start to walk! I will try to get a picture but usually it happens really fast and I don't always have my camera around.

Scary Incident

We had a scary incident the yesterday that nearly changed our lives forever. Sophie nearly choked to death. We're not quite sure what happened, whether she swallowed something or if she burped up something and it got caught in her throat. Thank God Lisiane was next to her because she started making a weird noise and Lisiane ran over to her and notice she was choking. She picked her up and started hitting her on Sophie's back which caused Sophie to vomit and a lot apparently all over the living room and into the kitchen. To make matters worse, I was at work and didn't hear or feel my cell phone ring. To make matters even worse, Lisiane tried calling 911 but in her distress state and being so emotional kept hitting 991 and getting a weird recording. It is finally over and Sophie doesn't seem to be showing any side effects or any other symptoms. Lisiane latter went threw all the vomit and couldn't find anything other than baby food/formula and a few specks of rice crispy cereal.

We have been constantly thanking God in prayer that Sophie is alright and are watching her round the clock like a hawk. I'm probably going to spend money we don't have right now just to get a second play crib/bed so Lisiane can watch her down stairs during the day and not have to constantly climb the stairs.

I don't know what it feels like to loose a child, but if it is worse than this, I pray I never have the experience. Loosing my father was probably the worst day of my life, I don't want to imagine loosing a child.

I've always wanted a personal plate and now I got 1! It cost a bit more a year, $30 but the plate has a dual meaning. It says I'm a Phoenix native, and it says which team I cheer for! It's too bad that things didn't work again this year and we had to yet again deal with the San Antonio Spurs but, there is always next year.....

Surprise under the paint?

We started to scrape the ceilings and we noticed that the paint started to peel back

and we were like huhh? We looked closer and realized that a wall paper runner all the

way around the room instead of being removed prior to being paint

was simply painted over! Stupid people. You can see the ugly color that the room was originally painted. Now we have to completely repaint the whole room......

Finished ceiling after a few days of scraping, pasting, sanding, and painting. We still need to put the fan back up but that is not something I'm looking forward to.

Our condo has been slowly under remolding. We've been getting rid of the cottage cheese/popcorn junk off our whole 1100 Sq Ft place. It's such a pain, not to mention a headache, but it looks so great when it's done....I'll post photos of the finished ceilings in a day or 2.
